Every now and then a particular group or network builds up enough capacity to launch a public campaign for a change in policy or support for a specific cause. The Centre provides support whenever required for such campaigns in the form of drafting policy papers, making posters, or preparing information kits

  • Jan Swasthya Abhiyan A campaign for critiquing the national health policy and developing a people-friendly alternative

  • WTO Virodhi Abhiyan A movement against the conditions imposed by the World Trade Organisation and the Indian Government’s complicity in agreeing to them

  • Urban Right to Work Campaign A national campaign for legislation for protecting employment opportunities in urban areas

  • People’s Housing Policy A draft policy providing details of how communities can build their own shelter with minimal but critical assistance from the government

  • People’s Mandate in Uttarakhand A campaign for electing representatives who would protect the people and environment of the hill State

  • Solid Waste Management An approach to economic and ecological waste management by waste pickers

  • Rapid Mass Transport Providing cheap and sustainable transport through rickshaws, autos, cycles, and buses

  • Public Health Providers Debate on the role of Registered Medical Practitioners in providing accessible and affordable community health
